How about adding some different ports to the shorter cruises out of Jacksonville and New Orleans? From Jacksonville, instead of Freeport/Nassau or Nassau/Half Moon Cay, how about bringing Key West back? This was really a favorite with my clients, as well as myself and they didn’t have to travel all the way to Miami to cruise. Out of New Orleans, how about rotating Progresso with Costa Maya? Same old ports are really getting stale . . .

Thank you for the feedback on adding some new port options for our cruises from Jacksonville and New Orleans.  For Jacksonville, we will review the Key West option and see if we can offer some cruises with this exciting destination.  For New Orleans, we agree that Costa Maya may be a good opportunity.  Later this year, they will finish adding some exciting new features including a spectacular water park and other amenities.

WHY ARE THERE ONLY TWO SHIPS AT PORT CANAVERAL? WHY ARE THERE NO SHIPS DOING 7+ DAY CRUISES FROM TAMPA? BRING SPIRIT TO TAMPA. LEGEND TO PORT CANAVERAL. TRIUMPH TO FORT LAUDERDAL TO DO 10+ DAY CRUISES. SEND IMAGINATION AND INSPIRATION TO AUSTRAILIA

We currently have 3 ships in Port Canaveral…Carnival Valor, Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Sensation. There are a variety of year-round 3 to 8 day cruises to choose from. We also have a special series of longer 9 to 13 day Carnival Journeys cruises from Port Canaveral that feature a variety of new destinations.

We are excited that Carnival Triumph will be moving to New Orleans next spring to allow us continue to build on our successful operation from the Big Easy.

Currently, there are no plans to adjust the deployment for the Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend. These ships are performing very well in Australia and Alaska and the ships are perfectly suited from an operational standpoint to operate these unique itineraries.

Our Carnival Journeys program of longer cruises are also available on select sailings from Miami on the Carnival Glory. There are 10, 11 and 14 day options to exciting new destinations in the Southern Caribbean.

We agree that offering a 7 day option from Tampa again would be a great addition for us. We are reviewing options now to see if this can be possible in the future. Unfortunately, we are limited in the size of ships we can bring to Tampa given the constraint with the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

Dear Carnival – WHAT A JOKE! I just read the update from CCL July ‘Onboard with you’ Newsletter’ regarding Carnival Rewards Program. Basically, every cruise rookie I have booked since February (which is approx. 80 new Carnival rookie passengers) + the 50,000 or so rookie points that I had pending……will disappear and I am receiving 1500 points as a thank you?????? Please tell me (and every other travel agent) this is a joke. Carnival is a BILLION dollar company and they can’t get this ‘glitch’ fixed? I say liar! My rookie rewards probably equals over 100,000 points due to me. This is the REAL reason you are getting rid of rookies. This is the last straw. As an agent, I have been hanging on to CCL by a very thin, thin thread…..and Now I’m Done with ya’ll. Unless a client specifically asks for your cruise line…I WILL NOT recommend CCL to anyone! I need to focus my energy on cruise lines that appreciate me. Goodbye.

We are truly sorry that Cruise Rookies had to be retired from the Travel Agents Rewards Program; we worked hard to find a solution that would have allowed us to keep Cruise Rookies.  We have contacted your BDM and will continue to work with you regarding this and the other frustrations you have with the program.

Very disappointed to find out that the Rookie Points have been discontinued in the Travel Agent Rewards Program. I have been waiting for months to get the points that were owed to me. I had booked over 30 rookies that I did not receive points for and was given 1500 points for as a thank you from Carnival. I have been keeping a list of Rookies that I had booked that I was not allowed to add to the Rewards until after Carnival completed the task. I earned 22,500 points and was given 1500. How is that a fair to the Travel Agents. I think we should be given the points we earned before discontinuing Rookies on 7/22/15.

Thank you so much for your post and we do apologize for this issue.  We worked for months trying to fix the issue within the program and appreciate your patience while Cruise Rookies was in maintenance.  We will be working with your BDM to contact you directly about your concerns.
