Hello…quick question has Carnival dropped The Rookie program? I have 2 rookies on a reservation, and when I went to the rewards to input the info. I found no rookie dropdown. Thanks

Thanks for your question. Cruise Rookies were removed from the Travel Agents Rewards Program on July 22, 2015. An email was sent to all travel agents that had pending Cruise Rookies balances and a notice was posted on the Travel Agent Rewards Program site.

In recent months, we uncovered some significant issues that allowed multiple Cruise Rookie entries to be validated in the system as part of our Travel Agent Rewards Program and our team has been working hard to find a solution. Unfortunately, after weeks of intense efforts, we were unable to resolve the challenges and retired Cruise Rookie reward points as of July 22, 2015. Moving forward, the system will be unable to accept additional Cruise Rookie entries.

For any questions, agents may contact our sales team or the team at the Travel Agent Rewards Program at carnivalrewards@qtxsupport.com.

The elimination of the Cruise Rookies points in Carnival Rewards program. Past sailings up until July 22, 2015 SHOULD BE HONORED. I believe you should stand behind your promises and prior commitments up until a change has been announced. We sold the product in good faith and we should be rewarded in good faith.

Thank you for post and also for your email to Customer Service regarding your concerns. We apologize that we were unable to keep Cruise Rookies as part of the rewards program and understand your frustration on the situation.  Our customer service team and your BDM are here and will continue to work with you to discuss this issue going forward.

Why has the Last Minute Rates for Travel Agents not been updated for weeks? Is this Rate cancelled or will we see more great deals in the future? And if so when?

Thank you for your inquiry. In the weeks to come, we will be introducing Reduced rates for Fall and those rates will be available in GoCCL.com for all Travel Professionals.

With the new rule, Carnival had to cancel ALL “Cruises to Nowhere.” Ok, no problem… So Carnival decided to make the Carnival Triumph an 8 night cruise out of New Orleans April 8-16, 2016. Wonderful!!! This is where it goes South!!! (no pun intended) You have a special 8 night sailing with a chance to create a unique itinerary not common out of New Orleans and blew it. Instead, you took the lazy way out and just added Costa Maya to the already saturated West Caribbean itinerary. How about Turks and Caicos, or Half Moon Bay?!? Now, THAT’s a way to start the Carnival Triumph’s deployment out of New Orleans with a bang. But instead it’s yet another cruise to Mexico.

Thank you for the input and we agree that we need to find new itinerary options from New Orleans.  In this situation, we combined the scheduled 3 day cruise-to-nowhere with a scheduled 5 day cruise.  We wanted to offer an 8 day itinerary that would be attractive to offer to all the guests that were previously booked on the 5 day which was visiting only Mexican ports.  The 5 day guests appreciated this opportunity and we were able to “save” their planned vacation.  There are always trade offs in these decisions, but we really wanted to what was best for guests that had already booked their 5 day cruise.
